Eugene W. Snook, of Williamsburg, Va., formerly of Silver Spring, Md., died peacefully on June 22, 2009, at the age of 84.

Born on Jan. 18, 1925, in Washington, D.C., he was the only child of the late
Gladys Parr Snook and Eugene Wilson Snook Jr. Gene, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet C. Snook; his three daughters and their families, Carlyn Ann Snook, and her fiancé, Dan Young of Richmond, Va.; Nancy S. Rumble and her husband, Danny of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lisa S. Van Antwerpen and her husband, Rik of Richmond, Va.; his beloved grandchildren, Matthew E. Rumble, Megan A. Rumble, Emily B. Hutchinson, Joseph W. Hutchinson and extended family.

Gene served in the Air Force during World War Il and the Korean conflict. He is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Gene loved his family, history, reading, music, and sports and was a die-hard Redskins and Hoya fan. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. His cheerful, loving spirit will be missed by his family and friends.
